When Devon Noehring heard it again, she realized that it was a howl. A howl of happiness. Devon thought that it was a one-time thing.

Then she noticed that Willo would do it every time she eats. As Willo’s mom prepared her food, Willo would wait until her mom says it was okay for her to start eating.

Devon noticed that Willo would only start howling towards the end of her meal. Devon translated this timing to mean that Willo was satisfied with her food.

Maybe this was just wishful thinking on Devon’s part. She interpreted the howling to mean, “Yummy, this food is great!” Maybe she was right. Who really knew how to translate the canine commentary?

Willo is a pretty calm and laid back dog. However, she does know how to make her presence known when she wants to. do so. She can also be quite loud if she wants to be.

This is especially true when Willo wants to get someone’s attention. While is it possible that Willo howls every time she eats because she wants to get someone’s attention, it is unlikely.

Another Clue to Why The Corgi Howled to Get Her Mom’s Attention

When Willo’s mom fails to give her the attention that she desires, Willo barks. Furthermore, Willo will not stop barking until she is noticed and given the attention she thinks she deserves.

Devon finds this behavior cute and adorable. Other people appear to think the same way. It is amusing to see how consistently she demands attention. She even has developed an unique way of doing it. Either she barks like crazy, or she howls.

Willo is getting older, and she’s doing less howling these days. Howl or not, her mom will always love her. Willo is one of the most precious things in Devon’s life. Nothing will ever change that.

My education, experiences in showing, breeding, and developing pedigree-based breeding programs for others gives me a strong background upon which to base articles of interest to most dog lovers. However, it is my great love for dogs that gives me the passion to share them with other dog lovers.
