Many dog owners believe dogs recognize a bad person long before humans do. Science suggests there may be something real behind that familiar feeling. Dogs are excellent observers of trust, body language, reliability, and human behavior. Studies from Kyoto University show that dogs can learn when a person gives unreliable cues and may also notice how people treat their owners. That does not mean dogs judge character exactly as humans do, but it does show they are paying close attention.
